Capitol Clips: Blaine Arena Hasn't Seen Windfall from Fallen Metrodome Roof

TwinsFest has been the only event to move from the Metrodome to the Blaine Sports Center.

North-metro sports facilities—both existing and proposed—continue to be the talk of the Twin Cities. To Fridley's east, prospects for a new stadium for the Minnesota Vikings in Arden Hills make headlines almost daily.

Nora Slawik (DFL-55B) asking Paul Erickson of the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission whether the sports center has seen an increase in revenue from events relocated from the damaged Metrodome.

Anderson's answer to the House State Government Finance Committee: the only event that has moved to the Blaine facility was Twinsfest. Most dome events need a more baseball-like space, he said.
