Work Offered in Oldest, Newer Professions: Fridley Police Blotter

A Fridley woman refused the jobs, told police about it.

A female told a Fridley police officer that an unnamed male offered her a job in repo work on May 24. He then offered her work as a hooker. She refused both employment opportunities.

Here are other items selected from information provided by the Fridley Police Department:

  • A collision between a passenger car and a street sweeper at Symphony Street and 73rd Avenue NE on May 19 sent the car's driver to the hospital. 
  • A female requested police assistance while she served her brothers-in-law with eviction papers on May 19.
  • At the request of a female resident on May 19, police left a phone message with an unknown male she knew via a dating website who persisted in sending her nude photos of himself, telling him to stop. 
  • A 12-year-old complained to police on May 20 that an adult male coach pulled his pants down, exposing his underwear in front of other people, while leaving a baseball game at Little League Park, 5875 Jefferson St. NE. 
  • An officer found the person who had been dumping furniture off in a backyard in the 4000 block of California Street NE on May 20 and advised her to remove it or it would be thrown out.
  • A caller in the 200 block of Ely Street NE reported May 20 that she saw someone drive across her front yard and that of the house next door, which is foreclosed. 
  • Burglars stole four TVs and a microwave overnight May 21 from a residence inthe 6300 block of Central Avenue NE.
  • A male reported May 22 that the family of his ex-wife threatened to kill him if they do not receive $10,000 as agreed upon as part of the arranged marriage.
  • On May 23 police advised a female who wanted to remove a cabinet for donation from her former (now foreclosed) home in the 6600 block of McKinley Street NE that she could do so only with signed permission from the bank.
  • A father with a baseball bat looking for the male who had relations with his daughter in the 100 block of Island Park Drive NE left in a pickup May 23 before police arrived.
  • On May 23, police told an ice cream vendor at Baker Avenue and Center Circle NE whose license had recently expired to stop selling ice cream until the license was renewed. 
  • Graffiti vandals hit Totino-Grace and Fridley high schools overnight May 24.

In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents generally appear in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred.
