WCCO-TV: Fridley Crash Victim Says SUV Driver Was Racing a Ferrari

'We were screaming, telling her like to stop,' one of the teenage passengers told WCCO-TV about the April 27, 2013 one-vehicle crash on University Avenue NE near I-694 that injured all seven aboard.

An SUV driver's attempt to race a Ferrari on University Avenue NE in Fridley on Saturday led to the one-vehicle rollover crash that seriously injured all seven aboard, one of the injured passengers told WCCO-TV.

WCCO-TV reporter Reg Chapman interviewed the teenager:

“There was this man in a Ferrari that was next to us, and then the lady that was driving the car that we was in, she started to try and race him,” Davis said. “We were screaming, telling her like to stop…and she got in front of him, and she started swerving left to right, left to right. The next thing, I know we went in the air.” ...

Investigators think the driver had been drinking. But they said they’ve not heard anything about someone in a Ferrari next to the SUV.
