VIDEO: Dramatic YouTube Shows Fridley Fire Before, After Trucks Arrive

Nine-minute YouTube clip shows the blaze from 2-1/2 minutes before Fridley firefighters' engine pulled up, through first minutes of their attack—including exploding car tires.

An eyewitness has posted dramatic video on YouTube showing the .

The video starts about two and a half minutes before firefighters arrived, with the home's attached garage fully engulfed in flames. The first engine pulls up at about the 2:30 mark, and a ladder truck arrives at about 6:20 into the video. In the meantime, tires on a car parked in the driveway explode loudly at about the 4:20 mark.

No one was hurt in the fire, which did not spread to the house except in a common attic space over both the house and garage, according to Fridley Fire Chief John Berg.

Berg said Friday that his department's investigation has not reached a conclusion about the cause of the fire. They're waiting to learn if the insurance company is going to do its own investigation, he said.

The Fridley Fire Department was aware of this YouTube video, Berg said, but didn't rely on it for the investigation. He explained by email Friday afternoon:

We were able to interview witness accounts that were closer to the time of the discovery of the fire than the picture from the camera. By the time the video was taken the fire was well established and the residents had already opened the garage door. The video was helpful in confirming a timeline from arrival of apparatus to the extinguishment of the fire and will be helpful in an conducting a post incident analysis with the members of the department.
