Victim Assaulted by Girlfriend and Ex: Fridley Police Blotter for Feb. 17

He was lured out of work only to get punched and scratched, police say.

  • A victim's current girlfriend and ex-girlfriend lured him out of his workplace then punched and scratched him in the 7100 block of University Avenue NE.
  • A vehicle stolen in Minneapolis turned up in the 1000 block of S. Circle NE.
  • Officers responding to a reported road-rage incident in the 7400 block of Hwy. 65 recovered a stolen vehicle and took two males to jail on stolen property and motor-vehicle charges.
  • Someone broke the lock on a gym locker and stole an iPod Touch at Fridley High School. 
  • A complainant said his vehicle had been towed from Chaska to Fridley and the towing company began to "part it out," with several parts removed. 
  • Police couldn't determine who owned a possibly stolen vehicle left in a parking lot in the 1200 block of 72nd Avenue NE without license plates and with heavy damage to the steering column.
  • A complainant said someone used his credit card number (he still has the card) to buy items worth $350 from Microsoft over the course of seven transactions Feb. 16. 
  • One crossing arm at the railroad grade crossing on Osborne Road NE would not lift completely, so an officer directed traffic until Burlington Northern-Santa Fe workers repaired it. 
  • A complainant said someone has moved into her house on Woody Lane NE that is in foreclosure. She said she isn't sure if the bank or a rental management company has rented it out without her permission.
  • An officer responding to a report of two males casing a house in the 600 block of 67th Avenue NE found a girl who said she was having trouble with a door lock.
  • An officer waited more than eight minutes but couldn't hear a barking dog reported in the 900 block of 68th Avenue NE.
  • Someone broke in through a patio screen door and stole items from inside a residence in the 6100 block of Sixth Street NE as well as a vehicle from the attached garage.
