Thief Took Stereo and Bible: Fridley Police Blotter

The victim wasn't sure what kind of stereo.

Someone broke a vehicle window in the 1100 block of 52nd Avenue NE and took a stereo and a Bible, according to a complainant, who couldn't identify the brand of stereo. He said the vehicle's hood was also popped but he didn't see any damage there.

March 22:

  • A safe and its contents turned up in a pond near the 100 block of 83rd Avenue NE.
  • A complainant reported getting phone calls about repaying a loan. Police spoke to suspect, who had complainant's personal information and was clearly attempting a scam.
  • A complainant said another driver rear-ended him on Highway 65 near I-694 then told him to meet in the Target parking lot to exchange information but never showed. 
  • A complainant's report of a possible fight in the 5200 block of Third Street NE turned out to have been a snowball fight. Police warned another resident about the noise violation.

March 23:

  • Someone sideswiped another vehicle at E. Moore Lake Drive and Highway 65 and fled the scene.
  • Two snowplow pickup trucks collided while clearing snow in parking lots in the 700 block of 53rd Avenue NE.
  • Police issued trespass notices at a business in the 5200 block of Central Avenue NE to two males, one of whom bragged to police about a history of robbery.
  • Someone passed a counterfeit $5 bill at McDonald's, 244 57th Ave. NE.
  • Someone stole a homemade trailer that had been attached to a pickup truck parked in the lot outside Cub Foods, 250 57th Ave. NE.
  • A caller wanted to inform police that his phone accidentally sent some saved text messages to his ex-girlfriend, who has a temporary restraining order against him.

In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents generally appear in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred.
