T-Pers Told to Pick It Up: Fridley Police Blotter

Police found the kids who made the mess.

These are items selected from information provided by the Fridley Police Department:

March 19:

  • Officers found the juveniles who toilet-papered a home in the 6800 block of Seventh Street NE and told them to clean up the mess.
  • A man lying in the street in the 5200 block of Taylor Street NE with a large cut on his forehead told an officer that the wound was a week old but hadn't healed and that he had moved from Colorado but had nowhere to go. The officer reserved a bed at Stepping Stones emergency housing for the man, and Allina transported him to Unity Hospital for treatment.
  • Police issued a permit to a driver who asked to use road kill at Highway 65 and Mississippi Street NE for bait.
  • Officers determined that a woman from Fridley who called 911 and began talking about a house fire in Pennsylvania was fine.
  • A complainant lost $90 after having dropped her wallet. Video from outside a store in the 700 block of 53rd Avenue NE showed a male picking up a wallet off the ground, leave the view of the camera, then return to put the wallet on a bench. 

March 20:

  • A homeowner on Osborne Road told police of suspicions that someone poisoned a one-year-old puppy who died there.
  • An officer impounded a large tan cat with no collar or tags from the 7400 block of Concerto Curve NE.
  • An officer told a caller who wanted police to pick up 11 cats to call the Animal Humane Society.

March 21:

  • A complainant reported graffiti on utility poles in the 1600 block of Mississippi Street.
  • A complainant in the 7100 block of Riverview Terrace who deals in firearms found that a handgun was missing from its box but he didn't know when or where it went missing.

In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents generally appear in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred.
