She Hurled Ice and Snow at Plow Driver: Fridley Police Blotter

Fridley Police escorted a female off the premises of an apartment building where she had accosted the driver of a snow plow.

On Feb. 23, Fridley Police officers escorted a woman from an apartment complex in the 600 block of Osborne Road after serving her with a trespass notice for yelling at a plow driver in the parking lot and throwing chunks of ice and snow at him.

  • Police sought but did not find in the 1000 block of South Circle NE a male St. Paul police wanted for fleeing in a motor vehicle.
  • A burglar alarm at Aamco Transmission, 940 Osborne Rd. NE, turned out to be for an actual burglary.
  • Two females stole a spool of wire from Menards, 5351 Central Ave. NE, and left in a vehicle.
  • Officers removed a mattress from the road in the 5000 block of Third Street NE and took it to the Public Works Dumpster. 
  • A motorist rear-ended a Fridley Police squad car at 53rd Avenue and Seventh Street NE, causing damage to both vehicles. 

Feb. 21:

  • Police determined a vehicle abandoned in the 7300 block of Baker Street NE was stolen and identified a suspect.
  • Police arrested two men for tampering with motor vehicles in the 5600 block of Sixth Street NE.
  • Police took a group-home resident to jail from the 6100 block of Woody Lane NE for adulteration after he put some of his medicine into soda pop and half-and-half belonging to staff members (who hadn't consumed them).
  • A vehicle abandoned with no license plates in a parking lot in the 900 block of Lynde Drive NE turned out to have been stolen.
  • A male turned down for a job at the Hitching Post, 7651 Hwy. 65, made a lewd phone call to the business, according to a complaint.
  • Multiple 911 calls from the 10 block of 63rd Way NE turned out to be the result of a child playing with the telephone.

  • An intoxicated man passed out in the lobby of a building in the 5200 block of Central Avenue NE. Paramedics took him to the hospital.
  • A male was arrested for domestic assault on a female in the 900 block of Lynde Drive NE. 
  • A customer spent two counterfeit $100 bills at Dave's Sport Shop, 1001 E. Moore Lake Dr., according to a complaint.
  • An officer responded to a fire in an apartment in the 100 block of Island Park Drive NE caused by negligence.

Feb. 23:

  • A complainant reported graffiti on a wall in the 900 block of Lynde Drive NE.
  • A driver backed into another vehicle in traffic at 83rd and University avenues NE.
  • A caretaker at an apartment building in the 6500 block of E. River Road reported that a video shows a resident breaking the glass on an already-broken door.
  • A student with a history of bullying other students was suspended from a school in the 800 block of Osborne Road NE after he threatened a female student.
  • Someone took the license plates off a vehicle in a parking lot in the 400 block of Osborne Road NE.
  • Police unlocked a car in the 900 block of E. Moore Lake Drive from which a driver was locked out but which a baby was locked in.

In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents generally appear in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred.
