Roommate's Items Apparently Pawned: Fridley Police Blotter for Jan. 26

Fridley police found that a resident's items may have been pawned by his roommate.

This is a selection of police activity for Jan. 26, 2011, from a listing provided by the Fridley Police Department.

  • After a male in the 900 block of Hillwind Road NE complained that his roommate had stolen his jewelry in recent weeks, officers found that the roommate had pawned items possibly belonging to the complainant and referred the case to detectives.
  • An officer responding to a complaint about a suspicious person sleeping in a vehicle in the 200 block of 57th Avenue NE learned that the person was taking a nap before going home but found nothing suspicious.
  • Officers told a male sleeping in a vehicle in the 7400 block of East River Road to go home.
  • A vehicle got stuck in a snowbank in the 7300 block of University Avenue NE.
  • Police arrested a female in the 100 block of 81st Avenue NE on a warrant.
  • Police checked that there was no predatory offender at a residence in the 4500 block of Main Street NE.
  • Detectives will work with the manager of the Super America store on Highway 65 to get surveillance images of two suspects he says have stolen items and used stolen credit cards for large purchases.
  • A complainant from the 6200 block of Trinity Drive NE reported receiving an almost-believable scam phone call.
  • An officer and K-9 Kona assisted the state Fugitive Task Force in apprehending a male in the 5700 block of East River Road who had violated his parole. 
  • Police went to an apartment in the 5900 block of 2-1/2 street vacant at the request of a caller who wanted to check on a daughter who she hadn't spoken to in eight to 10 years. The apartment was vacant.
  • An officer heard no barking dog after responding to a complaint in the 900 block of 68th Avenue NE.
  • As requested, officers stood by while a male collected his items from an apartment in the 5800 block of Second Street NE.
  • Callers who complained about kids throwing snowballs in the 1100 block of Onondaga Street NE asked police to leave because they disagreed with the police response.
  • Police responded to a call reporting people dealing narcotics from vehicles in the 300 block of Osborne Road.
  • Responding police gave advice after a call about a continuing dispute between neighbors in the 1100 block of Onondaga Street NE.
  • Officers mediated a dispute between residents of an apartment in the 5600 block of Seventh Street NE.
  • Police cited a juvenile for shoplifting at the Wal-Mart store on University Avenue NE.
