Updated: Duplex Fire in 1100 Block of Cheery Lane

Columbia Heights residents couldn't return home due to smoke damage, according to Twin Cities Fire Wire.

Update (Monday): Columbia Heights firefighters were on the scene of a duplex fire in the 1100 block of Cheery Lane NE for more than an hour Sunday evening, according to Twin Cities Fire Wire.

In a post with photos from the incident, Twin Cities Fire Wire reported that crews knocked down the blaze quickly in the side-by-side duplex structure.

Original report (Sunday): The second floor of a duplex was on fire in the 1100 block of Cheery Lane NE, a short cul-de-sac west of Fillmore Street NE just north of 47th Avenue NE, according to a report on Twitter from Twin Cities Fire Wire at 7:37 p.m. Sunday.
