The criminal complaint in the home invasion on East River Road early Wednesday alleges that the 18-year-old defendant told police he was there to get "a lot of pills."
Nathanial Joseph Shellito, armed with a knife, said he expected two others who were with him to join him in the attack, according to the document; instead, they fled. (A multi-agency search, reportedly involving a helicopter and the stoppage of freight trains on nearby tracks, wasn't successful in finding the other suspects.)
Shellito told police the three were from two different gangs that were working together to make money. He didn't know the victim he cut and bruised in the face, he said.
