Prone Male Just Resting on Way to Blaine: Fridley Police Blotter

He wasn't a car shopper—just a weary walker.

A passerby reported a male lying on the ground in front of , 7501 Hwy. 65. The male, who had no warrants for arrest, told police he was OK and was just taking a rest while walking to a friend's house in Blaine.

  • 2:32 a.m.: An officer saw a vehicle crash into the center median then being driven on the grass beyond the right shoulder of the road traveling northbound in the 5700 block of University Avenue NE. The driver fled on foot and was not located.
  • 5:28 p.m.: Police responded to a report of two old car engines in the middle of the road at Mississippi Street and University Avenue NE and had the two engines removed by a towing company. 
  • 10:32 p.m.: Officers responded to a struggle at between a suspect and store security. An off-duty police officer got involved and two males were arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and obstruction. Both were taken to jail.

Nov. 25, 2011

  • 11:54 a.m.: Someone abandoned a vehicle in the 1200 block of Onondaga Street NE.
  • 11:37 p.m.: Fridley police with K9 Kona assisted Columbia Heights police in the 4200 block of Third Street NE. Officers had already found several bags of marijuana in a vehicle. Kona alerted to the odor of narcotics from the vehicle and assisted with search one block south as the vehicle's occupants had tossed narcotics from the vehicle.
