Players Change into Tennis Togs at Park: Fridley Police Blotter

Fridley police received a complaint Sept. 29, 2011, about an ongoing problem involving two males who change clothes at before playing tennis. An officer found the two players, who said they work nearby and change clothes in their cars but do not remove their underwear. The officer recommended they change clothes at work before coming to the park.

Here are selections from information about other recent incidents in Fridley provided by the Fridley Police Department.

Sept. 29, 2011:

• A suspicious male walking behind the at 1040 Osborne Rd. NE told an officer he was looking for used cigarettes to smoke.
• An officer advised four people riding a BNSF train just south of I-694 that they would be cited for trespassing if they returned to the property.
• Housemates in the 5700 block of Hackmann Avenue NE in a verbal dispute about who had given who scabies told police they would handle the issue calmly.
• An officer dispatched to check on the welfare of eight dogs and a cat in the 6400 block of Highway 65 NE found that the animals appeared healthy but advised the residents of Fridley's animal nuisance ordinance.
• Police arrested a male for stealing from both Menards and at Target, where an employee reported the theft of a bicycle. (As of Oct. 7, the case remains under investigation for consideration of gross misdemeanor theft charges.)

Sept. 30, 2011:

• Police arrested a driver for 3rd Degree DWI whose vehicle was involved in a property-damage accident after being driven onto the railroad tracks near 61st Avenue NE and Starlite Boulevard NE.
• An officer dispatched to check on the welfare of a woman in the 6000 block of 2-1/2 Street NE found her to be in good spirits, despite her contention that people are using voodoo on her.
• A security employee at , 710 Medtronic Pkwy. NE, reported the company had received a phone threat against the life of the company's CEO. 
• , 1021 E. Moore Lake Dr., reported that for the second time a former employee took items without paying for them. 
• , 753 53rd Ave. NE, reported that a customer had left two cats at the business. Police advised it was a civil matter and the city would not pick up the cats.
• A naked male who a caller reported to police as asking for directions in the 400 block of 71st Avenue NE was gone when an officer arrived. 
• A Fridley police reserve unit transported a female from to Hastings Detox after police received reports about her from her mother and an anonymous caller.

In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents generally appear in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred.
