PHOTOS: Snowplow vs. Car Crash in Fridley

Incident occurred at 73rd and University avenues NE shortly after 10 a.m. Monday.

Updated below. A snowplow and passenger vehicle collided at University and 73rd avenues NE in Fridley Monday shortly after 10 a.m.

An ambulance was sent to the scene on a routine basis, Fridley Police Lt. Mike Monsrud said, indicating that injuries, if any, were very minor. He said he didn't know who, if anyone, was injured.

The Minnesota State Patrol was headed to the crash site to write up the incident, Monsrud said, as is routine for crashes involving plows on state highways.

Monsrud said that Monday morning was proving to be busier for the Fridley Police Department than usual for a day with snowy road conditions, with cars sliding off the road and other incidents.

Update: A commenter at the Fridley Patch Facebook page said road conditions were poor at University and 73rd on Monday morning:

That is the intersection I take out of my residential blocks on to University...it was in very bad condition this morning. All of University was horrible!
