Photos: Midnight Fire Strikes U.S. Corrugated in Fridley

Sprinklers suppressed the blaze; firefighters worked to clear the smoke.

A fire at Fridley's factory early Saturday morning likely started with a truck trailer parked inside, according to Fire Chief John Berg.

An alarm at midnight Friday brought six Fridley Fire Department vehicles to the scene (plus the chief's car and an Allina ambulance) at the south end of the U.S. Corrugated property.

"Sprinklers kept the fire down," Berg said. Crews cut an opening into a big loading-dock door at the building's southwest corner then worked to move smoke out of the building by opening doors and running fans.
