Photos: Car, MnDOT Truck Crash on Hwy. 65

The State Patrol said a worker from the MnDOT truck went to hospital.

A collision between a passenger car and a Minnesota Department of Transportation truck restricted traffic on northbound Highway 65 south of 68th Avenue NE Wednesday afternoon.

Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol said a MnDOT employee from the truck went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He did not have information on anyone from the car.

The crash occurred at about 1 p.m. Wednesday. An Allina ambulance left at approximately 1:40 p.m. Also on the scene were Fridley police and fire departments as well as the Minnesota State Patrol.

The car had front-end damage. The crash cushion on the rear of the MnDOT truck was crushed. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Traffic was restricted on northbound Highway 65 for more than an hour, much of the time limited to the shoulder.

Three other MnDOT trucks were stopped behind the truck involved in the crash.
