No Possum: Fridley Police Blotter for Feb. 6–9

Fridley police couldn't find a possum that a caller reported seeing in a backyard.

This is a selection of police activity for Feb. 6–9 from a compilation provided by the Fridley Police Department.

Feb. 6:

  • An officer responded to a report of a large possum in the caller's backyard in the 6300 block of Seventh Streeet NE, but found no possum.
  • An officer mediated a dispute between a female and a male at an apartment in the 5400 block of Fifth Street NE over her ability to do school work in peace.

  • An officer handcuffed a female who was in a verbal dispute with the caretaker of an apartment building in the 100 block of Charles Street NE, then uncuffed her when she became cooperative.
  • A complainant in the 5800 block of Fifth Street NE said she believes her neighbors are able to make her vehicles horn/panic alarm go off.
  • Police were unable to make contact with the registered owner of a vehicle with no wheels in the 6600 block of Lucia Lane NE.
  • Police found that a male lying in the road in the 5200 block of Central Avenue NE was intoxicated and experiencing hypothermia. An ambulance took the male to Hennepin County Medical Center. 
  • A caller in the 5200 block of Third Street NE complained that after refusing to allow a male who he had discovered was a sex offender to move in with him, the male made a verbal threat. 
  • An officer told a male who had been looking for his girlfriend by knocking on doors at the LivInn Suites hotel on Central Avenue NE to stop.

Feb. 8:

  • A caller in the 5900 block of 2-1/2 Street NE complained about unwanted phone calls from Texas, possibly from a person with whom the caller has had a falling-out on a social networking website.
  • A complainant in the 100 block of Island Park Drive didn't want police to speak with a person he suspects of harassing him by text message.
  • Police told the neighbor of a female in the 6000 block of East River Road to leave her alone after she complained about the neighbor stalking her.

  • An officer returned a W2 form to its owner after the co-worker of a person whose vehicle had been burglarized in the 7500 block of Highway 65 found it next to the vehicle. 
  • Police responded to a caller's complaint that a downstairs neighbor in the 100 block of 83rd Avenue NE was sending electrical currents through the floorboards, but found the complaint to be unfounded.
