Man Runs into Bob's Produce with Vehicle

The driver was OK, and the Fridley landmark only suffered a minor bump.

A vehicle bumped into an outside wall at Thursday morning. But the minor incident appeared to leave the driver and store relatively unscathed, with slight front-end damage to the vehicle.

It happened at about 10:30 a.m. Fridley police and fire as well as an Allina ambulance responded to an Anoka County emergency-dispatch call indicating head injuries from a car crashing into the building.

However, Allina cleared the driver and after responders took a peek under the (slighly crumpled) hood he backed away from the building and drove off.

The wooden exterior wall on the building's east side appeared to have withstood the impact without significant damage.

Police officers and fire fighters reminisced at the scene about a similar incident at Bob's several years ago.

"Put in a drive-through and you wouldn't have this problem," joked Fridley Police Officer Jason Cardinal.
