Jeans Missing After Stay with Friend: Fridley Police Blotter

An April 27 caller in the 5400 block of Seventh Street NE said his jeans were stolen from his bag after he stayed with a friend at the friend's apartment. The friend denied committing the theft.

Here are other incidents selected from information provided by the Fridley Police Department:

April 26:

  • An officer found a Toyota hubcap in the parking lot of Woodcrest Elementary School, 880 Osborne Rd. NE, where a caller reported that someone had struck the caller's parked car and fled the scene.
  • Two males fighting in the 1000 block of North Circle NE got citations, the first for disorderly conduct and the second for disorderly conduct, fifth-degree assault, and for hiding from officers inside a manufactured home. The first went to the hospital with superficial injuries; the second went to jail.
  • A bullet was found under a pallet in the assembly line at Cummins Power Generation, 1400 73rd Ave. NE. No one knows where it came from.

April 27:

  • Someone stole a hood ornament from a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Mississippi Street.
  • A thief took an iPod, a GPS unit, compact discs, cash and prescription medicine from an unlocked car parked in the 100 block of 83rd Avenue NE.
  • A baseball bat appeared to have been the instrument used to smash the windshield of a complainant's vehicle in the 5800 block of 2-1/2 Street NE.
  • A juvenile with a knife refused to leave Fridley Middle School, 6100 W. Moore Lake Dr. NE, and fought with staff and tried to fight with police. He was found to be in possession of a stolen credit card that had been taken in a burglary and was taken to East Central Regional Juvenile Center, Lino Lakes.
  • A hacker left a threatening message on the computer of a caller in the 200 block of Satellite Lane.
  • Someone broke a window by throwing a jar during a fight between roommates in the 5400 block of Fifth Street NE.
