Weapons Left in Shed Aren't Garden Variety: Fridley Police Blotter

The garden shed held a shotgun, ammunition and a crossbow.

A garden shed yielded an unexpected weapons cache of a shotgun, ammunition and a crossbow. The residet in the 7400 block of West Circle NE told police he didn't know whose they were and he wanted no part of them.

Here are other items selected from information provided by the Fridley Police Department:

  • Vandals left obscene writings on the building exterior on May 9 at Totino-Grace High School, 1350 Gardena Ave. NE.
  • A man yelling at people in th 6900 block of East River Road was mad because he got off the wrong bus.
  • A man yelling and throwing rocks in the parking lot of Talecris plasma Resources, 6482 University Ave. NE, on May 10 was mad because he was turned down for a donation.
  • A caller said someone threw something out of a school bus window on May 10 in the 5300 block of Seventh Street NE that cracked the caller's vehicle windshield.
  • A semi truck and trailer southbound on McKinley Street NE on May 11 caught power lines, breaking a power pole which then fell on a wooden fence in the 1600 block of Mississippi Street NE. No one was hurt but police arrested the driver on a warrant and took him to jail.
  • A complainant said he had backed his vehicle into an electronic cart pusher in the parking lot at Target, 755 53rd Ave. NE, on May 11. The result: minor damage to complainant's vehicle and none to the cart pusher.
  • An officer responded to a report of counterfeit currency at Burger King, 289 57th Ave. NE on May 12.
  • Someone damaged two trees at North Park Elementary, 5575 Fillmore St. NE.  on May 12.
  • An officer responding to a report of an injured goose in the 8300 block of University Avenue NE on May 12 could not get near the goose.
  • Officers mediated a disputed between neighbors in the 600 block of Fairmont Street NE on May 12. One said the other's cats came into her yard. The other said her dogs came into his. 
  • A complainant in the 790 block of East River Road reported May 12 that  someone stole $15 in cash from her birthday card that had been delivered by mail but then discarded nearby on the ground. 
  • Police advised a complainant who said she has foxes living under her shed in the 7000 block of Hickory Drive NE to live-trap and relocate them.


In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents generally appear in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred.
