Fridley Police to Play Softball at Aug. 3 Benefit

Southern Anoka Community Assistance will get food, funds.

Fridley police, , will take on members of the Columbia Heights fire and police departments in the opening game of Columbia Heights' ninth annual charity softball tournament Aug. 3.

(SACA) is the beneficiary of donated nonperishable food items or cash at the event, which starts with the Fridley police's game at 6 p.m. at Huset Park Field 5. 

At 7 p.m., Coon Rapids police take on the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, with the championship game set for 8 p.m., and an all-star game of public safety team members vs. the .

There will be a pig roast at the event. Spectators are asked to bring beverages and dishes to share, as well as chairs to sit in, and of course nonperishable food items or cash donations.
