Male in Black Hat Tried to Steal Gray Hat: Fridley Police Blotter

A white male in a black hat and blue jacket ran away toward Springbrook Drive after trying to steal a gray hat, according to a report to Fridley police from , 8450 University Ave. NE. As he ran away, he dropped the gray hat. If he returns, the store will ask police to give him a trespass notice.

• Police checked on the welfare of a male in the 7300 block of Taylor Street NE who had called a military hotline. The male said he wasn't going to hurt anybody and talked continually about things that happened years ago. His roommate told police that is normal for him.
• A complainant told police about a broken window on a tractor belonging to a management company in the 7400 block of Taylor Street NE.
• A police officer took a report from a complainant who said someone siphoned gas from the complainant's vehicle in the 1200 block of Norton Ave. NE within the previous two days.
• A female reported that someone stole her purse while she was at , 8150 University Ave. NE, but store security personnel said that video showed the female entering the store with no apparent purse.
