Ladder, Ashtray and Door Plate Taken: Fridley Police Blotter

The items have a value of $180.

A thief made off with a ladder, a metal ashtray and a door lock plate from outside a residence in the 5800 block of Second Street NE on Nov. 27. There is no suspect information. The missing items are valued at $180.

Nov. 26, 2011:

  • 12:43 a.m.: K9 Kona helped police in Spring Lake Park track a male suspect who fled a traffic stop on foot to a room at the Hiway House motel.
  • 2:54 a.m.: A caller reported someone in a vehicle stole a letter from the caller's mailbox in the 100 block of River Edge Way.
  • 8:30 a.m.: A report of a female being held against her will at knife point in the 5600 block of E. River Road turned out to be false, according to police. 
  • 12:30 p.m.: A caller in the 7400 block of Baker Avenue NE reported that someone stole his mail. 
  • 11:42 p.m.: Police assisted on a medical call to the 5300 block of Fifth Street NE, where an intoxicated male who had lost consciousness was bleeding from his head. Several partygoers interfered with paramedics as well as fire fighters and police officers.

Nov. 27, 2011:

  • 1:45 a.m.: Police responded to a report from a complainant in the 7500 block of Baker Street NE that an intoxicated ex-girlfriend had just left his residence, but he didn't know where she would be headed or her license plate number.
  • 2:30 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle deemed suspicious because it was leaving at a time when the business was closed. The driver turned out to work at the building, but the officer cited him for driving after his license was suspended.
  • 4:06 a.m.: An anonymous complainant reported people yelling from a vehicle at the complainant. Police found the vehicle, whose occupants said they were yelling to a friend in another vehicle on the road and didn't mean to upset anyone. 
  • 12:09 p.m.: A resident in the 5600 block of E. River Road reported that someone damaged the lock on his garage and took four tires with rims valued at $1,200. 
  • 1:25 p.m.: A caller reported her boyfriend was jumping on her car in the 700 block of 53rd Avenue NE. Police cited the boyfriend for criminal damage to property and released him.
  • 4:21 p.m.: A girl pushed a laundry cart out the front door of a business in the 200 block of 57th Avenue NE then let it go. The cart rolled off the sidewalk and scratched a vehicled parked outside the front doors. The girl's father agreed to pay for repairs. 
  • 5:05 p.m.: An unknown vehicle struck two road signs in the 7800 block of E. River Road. 
  • 7:47 p.m.: Police arrested a female on suspicion of assaulting another person in a parking lot in the 200 block of 57th Place NE as well as driving while intoxicated with two children in the car.

In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents generally appear in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred.
