Fridley Man Who Police Say Gave Morphine to Woman Faces Murder Charge in Her Death
Anoka County prosecutors say a Coon Rapids woman died of an overdose from drugs Jerry Lynn McCleskey provided.
A Fridley man supplied a Coon Rapids woman with the morphine that killed her, according to the Anoka County Attorney. Jerry Lynn McCleskey, 59, faces one count of third degree murder. McCleskey remains at the Anoka County Jail on $50,000 bail with a court date of Aug. 6, 2013, according to ABC Newspapers.
In the criminal complaint (see PDF), an Anoka County Sheriff detective stated that McCleskey told his roommate and the detective that he didn't think he'd given the woman who died enough pills for her to overdose.
The roommate told the detective that McCleskey called him Aug. 26, 2012 "in a panic stating the girl was cold and dead," according to the complaint.
