Footprints but No Crime: Fridley Police Blotter for Feb. 4

A homeowner spotted tracks between his garage and rear door but no sign that anything else was wrong.

This is a selection of police activity on Feb. 4 from information provided by the Fridley Police Department. 

  • A homeowner in the 1400 block of 76th Avenue NE reported fresh footprints from his garage door to a rear door on the deck, but no indication of a break-in or anything missing. 
  • An officer spoke to a person reported to have been smoking in the bathroom at the Super America on University Avenue NE, who then accepted transportation to the hospital. 
  • A good Samaritan gave a driver and passenger a ride after their car suffered a flat tire in the 6800 block of University Avenue NE. 
  • Two people left the Perkins restaurant on University Avenue NE without paying their bill, according to a report. 
  • A female called police because her boyfriend locked her out on the balcony of an apartment in the 7800 block of East River Road. 
  • Police mailed a citation for trespassing to a suspect who witnesses saw return to a location in the 7400 block of Taylor Street NE from which he is banned for one year under a trespass notice issued in November. 
  • Police arrested a male who shoplifted $30 worth of merchandise then fought with store security personnel at Menards on Central Avenue NE and took him to jail as a non-compliant predatory offender who had committed a felony by failing to register. 
  • Police took another male shoplifter to jail from the Menards on Central Avenue who had a warrant out. 
  • An officer decided that noise from an upstairs apartment in the 1600 block of North Innsbruck Drive NE that a caller called loud and disturbing was not unreasonable. 
  • Police took a woman from the 7400 block of West Circle NE to detox. 
  • Police cited a male suspected of switching UPC codes on two rugs at Wal-Mart on University Avenue NE. 
  • An officer found only an unoccupied car in the 700 block of 49-1/2 Avenue NE that a caller reported as suspicious after the driver parked in front of the caller's house and walked away while continually looking back at the car.
