Columbia Heights Police Respond to Early Morning Shooting

The incident occurred at about 2 a.m. today (Monday). Authorities are looking for two suspects.

The Columbia Heights Police Department and Anoka County Sheriff's Office are investigating a shooting incident in the town early this morning (Monday). 
In a news release, the Sheriff's Office said Columbia Heights Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Circle Terrace N.E. at 1:59 a.m. on a report of multiple gun shots fired in the area by at least two suspects. 
The gunfire was directed at a couple who were sitting in their parked car. A 44-year-old Columbia Heights woman was struck by two bullets, sustaining non-critical wounds, police said. She was transported to a local hospital. 
Meanwhile, the 42-year-old man, a New Brighton resident, was not injured, police said.  

After the shots were fired, at least two suspects "fled on foot, but a white color passenger car (also) was seen speeding out of the area after the shooting," the Sheriff's Office said. 

The complainants described the suspects as a Hispanic male dressed in dark clothing who is about five foot nine and of average build. The other suspect is a black male wearing dark clothing; no other details were available.

The vehicle possibly related to the suspects was described only as a white sedan, no other details noted.
