Charges: Burglar, Tackled by Tracks, Said, 'You Got the Wrong Guy'

Fridley resident chased defendant from East River Road home to railroad tracks, according to criminal complaint.

A Northeast Minneapolis man took tools from the attached garage at home on East River Road in Fridley Sunday, according to a criminal complaint.

The homeowner chased the defendant, who was carrying two plastic totes "full of tools," the complaint says.

The homeowner tackled the defendant twice, prosecutors allege: first in the backyard, then by the railroad tracks that run nearby—where the defendant threatened to stab him but also begged to be freed for the holidays and the sake of the defendant's kids.
