Charges: He Stole Skid Steer Loaders

Two men were charged in separate cases Dec. 26, 2012 with crimes in Fridley:

The Anoka County Attorney's Office filed charges against:

• Glen William Neville, 41, of White Bear Lake. According to a statement of probable cause from Fridley Police Officer Zak Chlebeck, officers got a report that someone had stolen a trailer and two skid steer loaders valued at $96,914 from a lot at 7011 University Ave. NE overnight Aug. 9–10, 2012. Voss Trucking, the company that had provided the vehicles to the worksite, directed police to Neville, a former employee. Neville admitted the theft to police, saying that a man he didn't know came to his residence and offered him $5,000 to steal the equipment. He said he drove a Voss dump truck to the site, hooked up the trailer, loaded the skid steers and then drove them to Hudson, WI, where officers located the trailer. Neville faces to counts of motor-vehicle theft, each carrying a penalty of as many as five years in prison and a fine of as much as $100,000.

• Richard John Nordstrom, 42, of Fridley. According to a statement of probable cause from Detective Jason Piehn of the Columbia Heights Police Department: Officers of the Anoka Hennepin Drug Task force arrived at 610 Osborne Rd. NE, Fridley, to execute a search warrant at an apartment. Nordstrom approached them in the parking lot and said that was his apartment and admitted they would find his drugs there. They found a substance in a container that later tests determined was 0.2 grams of methamphetamine. Nordstrom faces two counts: fifth-degree posession and storing meth where children are present, each carrying a penalty of as many as five years in prison and a fine of as much as $100,000.
