Updated: Body May Be Missing Coon Rapids Man

Update (Sept. 5): Fox 9 News reported Wednesday morning that the Anoka County Sheriff's office confirmed that a body found near Coon Rapids Dam is likely that of missing Coon Rapids resident Alan Lyle Taylor.

Original post (Sept. 4): The Anoka County Sheriff's Office and Coon Rapids Police Department are asking for the public's help finding Alan Lyle Taylor, 31, of Coon Rapids, last seen Aug. 25, 2012:

The Coon Rapids Police Department and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office are jointly investigating the disappearance of a 31 year old that was last seen on August 25th at approximately noon. The missing individual is identified as:

Taylor was seen by neighbors getting into a white colored Pontiac passenger car. At the time, Taylor was wearing red shorts and no shirt. He left his car at his residence and didn’t appear to make any preparations for a prolonged trip away from home. Taylor has never just disappeared in the past and family members are gravely concerned for his safety. At this point, the investigation has shown that there has been no activity on Taylor’s cell phone and none of his financial transaction cards have been used.

Taylor has been known to go fishing at the Three Rivers Park district near the Coon Rapids Dam. Taylor had plans to begin school this week at Anoka Technical College made family plans for the holiday weekend, so his disappearance is troubling to his family and friends.

Anyone who may have information about the whereabouts of Alan Taylor is asked to call the Coon Rapids Police Department or the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office at (763) 427-1212.
