UPDATED: After K-9 Search, Fridley Police Find Suspect Hiding in Shed

The man was wanted for theft, possession of stolen property and financial transaction card fraud.

Updated, August 16, 10:15 a.m.: The 33-year-old suspect Spring Lake Park man suspected by Fridley police of felony theft and financial transaction card fraud has been released from Anoka County Jail after agreeing "to cooperate with investigators," Fridley police Lt. Mike Monsrud said.

Monsrud said the man, who was detained Tuesday evening in a shed after a police chase involving six officers, is still expected to be charged.

It took four Fridley police officers, two Spring Lake Park officers and a police dog to find and apprehend a suspect Tuesday evening wanted on a probable cause warrant.

The man, spotted about 7 p.m. near 81st and University avenues in Spring Lake Park, was wanted by Fridley police for theft, possession of stolen property and financial transaction card fraud, Fridley police Lt. Mike Monsrud.

Police officers used their K-9 to track the subject and eventually found him in a shed.

The suspect was taken to Anoka County Jail, and Monsrud said he expects charges to be filed Thursday morning.
