A Shot Squirrel and a Hung Rooster: Fridley Police Blotter, March 21–27, 2013

Also an abandoned house that wasn't abandoned and a limo that wasn't kidnapping anyone.

Here are a few of the incidents logged by the Fridley Police Department March 21–27, 2013 (see the full summary of the week's incidents at the City of Fridley website):

March 22, 2013, 7:30 p.m., 6800 block of Madison Street NE: Officers responded to the 6800 block of Madison St NE on a possible burglary/trespass in what was believed to be an abandoned house. Officers made contact with the occupant/owner, who produced mail and a driver's license with the address on it, and who had been living there since November.

March 23, 2013, 4:17 p.m., James Manor Apartments, 1200 block of 72nd Avenue NE: Caller reported a dead squirrel on her deck in the 1200 block of 72 Ave NE. The squirrel had possibly been shot in the head. The caller threw the squirrel in the garage. There is no suspect information. The area was checked for evidence and nothing was found. There was a second call of a person with a pellet gun and Officers were in the area at the time. Nothing was found.

March 24, 2013, 3:03 a.m., I-694 and University Avenue NE: Male advised he was being kidnapped by a taxi driver in area of 53/ University. Stopped vehicle and spoke with Limo driver who advised male refused to give him an address. Male passenger stated he was scared he was being kidnapped because the vehicle didn't have a meter. Advised male it was a limo service not a taxi. Male advised to call another taxi.

March 25, 2013, 2:53 p.m., 5650 Polk St. NE (apartment): Dispatched to a live rooster that hung up side down from a deck in 5600 block on Polk Street NE. Owner's friend would pick up the rooster this evening and said that it would not happen again.
