6th Victim Dies in Mpls. Shooting That Took Life of Spring Lake Park Man

Eric Rivers, critically injured, now joins UPS Driver Keith Basinski among the fatalities from Andrew Engeldinger's Sept. 27 rampage at Accent Signage in Minneapolis.

Eric Rivers of St. Paul, a manager who was critically injured in the Sept. 27 shooting at Accent Signage in Minneapolis, has died, the Star Tribune reported.

His family decided to take him off life support at Hennepin County Medical Center, according to Fox 9.

Here is a statement from Rivers' family, released on a HCMC news blog:

“Eric Rivers passed away peacefully last night. We are grateful for the incredible courage displayed by the men and women who responded to the emergency and the wonderful medical team at Hennepin County Medical Center, who cared for Eric. At this time, the family asks for privacy as we deal with this personal tragedy. We thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.”

Thursday marks two weeks since Andrew Engeldinger was fired, pulled a gun and began shooting people at Accent Signage in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood of Minneapolis. Among his victims that day was Keith Basinski of Spring Lake Park, who had stopped at the business as part of his route as a UPS delivery driver.
