$100 Bill Inside Vehicle Parked on Bike Path: Fridley Police Blotter

It was at the entrance to Locke County Park.

Police dispatched to shortly before midnight on June 9 found a vehicle parked on the bike path at the park entrance. They had the car towed and impounded. A $100 bill found in the vehicle was placed into evidence.

Here are items selected from information provided by the Fridley Police Department:

  • Police stopped, cited and jailed a driver who was going 105 miles per hour June 9 on I-694 at Hwy. 65 and registered 0.13 on the Intoxilyzer 5000. 
  • A driver pulling over on the wrong side of Mississippi Street in the 600 block on June 9 for a garage sale prompted a complaint, but the vehicle was gone when police arrived.
  • A juvenile male student punched another juvenile male student, breaking his jaw, on June 9 at Fridley Middle School, 6100 W. Moore Lake Dr. 
  • Police responded to a June 10 report of a male intentionally setting off his car alarm to disturb neighbors in the 4500 block of Second Street NE.
  • Two five-year-old boys were playing unattended in a commercial dumpster at Woodcrest Elementary School, 880 Osborne Rd. NE on June 10. Police contacted the boys' guardians.
  • A caller reported June 10 someone stole dog-hair trimmers and dog-training collars valued at $3,598.59 from the 700 block of 73rd Avenue NE. 
  • Surveillance video shows two juveniles entering a locked, gated area at Central Minnesota Tree Service, 6750 Main St. NE, and damaging equipment. A June 10 caller had the vandals' identity.
  • Police jailed a man in the 5900 block of East River Road on suspicion that he threatened to kill his girlfriend's mother with a knife on June 10.
  • An officer on patrol saw a female walking alone northbound in the 7300 block of Hwy. 65  shortly before 3 a.m. on June 11. She said her ride had not shown and she was walking home to Blaine. The officer gave her a ride home.
  • Police tagged an abandoned car that was blocking mailboxes June 11 in the 500 block of Janesville Street NE and left a voicemail for the owner to move it.
  • A stop sign and a turn-direction sign at Sixth Street and 61st Avenue NE were vandalized with spray paint June 11.
  • A motorist reported losing a hub cap and suffering a damaged rim June 11 after driving over a pothole on Hwy. 65 near West Moore Lake Drive NE, but police could not identify the pothole.
  • Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 5900 block of Hackmann Avenue NE in which suspects entered a home by an unsecured window but fled before police arrived.
  • An officer went to the 6200 block of Jupiter Road NE on June 12 where a resident reported his house was hit by three paintballs the day before.
  • An officer responded to a June 12 report in the 500 block of 63rd Avenue NE of a vehicle with several red-stained feminine pads stuck all over a vehicle. The officer called the vehicle's owner and asked the owner to clean up the vehicle.
  • Police helped a complainant's 11-year-old son with privacy settings on June 12 after a dispute on Facebook. 
  • A domestic-assault suspect in the 7300 block of Taylor Street NE fought with responding officers and was taken to jail.
  • Neighbors in the 5900 block of Fourth Street NE found a game of dominoes in a driveway after 10 p.m. on June 12 to be loud and disturbing. The players said they would keep it down.

In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents generally appear in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred.
