What I have learned on the campaign trail

City Council is a small race, but it has a huge impact on how we live.  City Council members work with the Mayor on budgetary issues, city regulations and laws, it is vital that City Council is able to access local and state wide resources. A good way is to collaborate with our state leaders regarding city issues.

While walking through New Brighton, there are many issues that have been brought to my attention by residents.  Backyard farming, excessive speed in residential areas home to families and small children, economic growth concerning the New Brighton Exchange and Old Highway 8, the large quantity of street lights along 5th Ave NW, and the use of park buildings being extended to youth year round are all issues brought to me from the people of New Brighton as I have been door knocking.  New Brighton is home to wonderful green spaces and parks.  The idea of bringing Wi-Fi and a set operating hours for the restrooms have also blossomed out of my door knocking.

It is vital that we make New Brighton attractive for young professionals who are looking to build their lives with their families.  We must make New Brighton a great place to work and live!  As we beautify both privately and publically owned lands we create a welcoming environment that draws upstanding citizens to live and work!

While I know what issues are important to me, what is important is that your voice is heard.  I will work hard to listen and work on behalf of the people of New Brighton.  I have had such an amazing experience walking through New Brighton and getting to know residents.  I encourage communication via email, facebook, twitter, and phone!  Together, we can make New Brighton an amazing place to live, work, and play!
