Still Room in Tuesday 'Clues in the Census Records' Class

Find out about Fridley, Anoka County forebearers in new 1940 Census data.

It's not too late to learn a whole lot about people in Fridley and Anoka County in 1940.

A class called "Clues in the Census Records' is set for 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Anoka County Historical Center and Library, 2135 Third Ave. N., Anoka.

Cathi Weber, president of the Anoka County Genealogical Society, will lead the class. She said Monday night that there is still room in the class for people interested in learning how to use census records in family research.

The class will pay special attention to recently released data from the —the first time that deciennial survey included questions about education levels, previous marriages and more, along with the standard data on age, gender and ethnicity.

Participants will learn how to access the census, how to locate individuals in it and more. The class costs $7—or $5 for Anoka County Historical Society and Anoka County Genealogical Society members. To reserve a spot, call the Anoka County Historical Society at 763-421-0600.
