Sometimes, it’s a case of, you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. In B-L’s case, I believe that many in our community just don’t know what we have even now.

Partners in Preservation understands this. It’s why they are making their funding available in such a way that demands lots of people make a conscious effort to get to recognize the jewels in their neighborhoods and to do something, take action, to ensure that they will be here for future generations.

Surely, it is worth the effort. Through this campaign, we hope that more people will take note of this important historical site.

But, more than that, we hope that our friends and neighbors can see that the building, as an art center, is simply continuing the role for which it was originally intended; that art brings a community together in positive, wholesome and engaging ways and, most of all, that this is vital for a healthy community.

The is a cultural touchstone, a container for stories of place and people that are still being written. Please take the time to vote for Banfill. Click here to vote every day through October 12. http://tinyurl.com/4xoayam
