A Fond Farewell From Your Patch Editor

Dear Fridley Patch Readers,

I have a bit of sad news to share: As of the end of today (Tuesday, Oct. 15) I am getting laid off from Patch due to a company reorganization.

The good news is that Fridley Patch is going to continue for the foreseeable future. The site will remain open for people to post their events, announcements, blogs and other information.  Fridley Patch will remain open as Patch explores options for continuing to serve the community.

I hope that you will continue to make use of Fridley Patch as it is your community resource. It's a way for you to stay connected with your friends and neighbors whether that's about the latest city development project, local community fundraiser, crime alert or city celebration.

When I started with Roseville Patch in April, 2011, I never imagined the interesting journey that would unfold for me. Fire calls, City Council meetings, ribbon cuttings for new businesses, high school robotics demonstations and election returns are among our plethora of stories to post on Patch. You name it, we have tried to cover it all.

Since July, I have also assumed the duties of Fridley Patch local editor, an additional assignment I have found to be challenging and rewarding.

It's been a pleasure and a lot of fun serving you, even if it has only been for a very short time.  I have found the people in Fridley to be very helpful and friendly. All of you have enriched my life and I thank you for sharing your stories with me.

In the end, we hope you have found Fridley Patch informative, worthwhile and enjoyable. Now as I pursue a new job, our paths may yet cross again.

Wishing you all the best for the future,

Sincerely,

Scott Carlson
