Super Hero Blood Drive 3/27 Fridley United Methodist Church

People needing blood are often in the fight for their lives.  Those who donate blood can be super heroes.  One unit of blood can help up to 3 patients.

Many people who think they can not give blood actually can.  Even former cancer patients can give blood once they have been cancer-free for one year.  Most maintenance drugs are not a problem in donating blood.  Cholesterol drugs, blood pressure meds,  insulin, allergy meds, and low-dose aspirin are all ok.  If you are on blood thinners you may not give blood.

If you have questions about your eligibility to donate call 1-800-REDCROSS.  If you would like to schedule a donation log on the redcrossblood.org.

The Red Cross has had to cancel many drives this winter due to weather conditions and the supply is low.  Be a hero and donate blood and if you can bring a friend along too.   Blood donation usually takes less than an hour and can mean a lot to those who need it.
