Free Curling Classes at New Four Seasons Curling Club

The country’s first year-round curling facility is opening with free learn-to-curl classes Jan. 2-5. Enrollment is limited. Classes are offered at 2, 5 and 8 p.m. Registration is required and can be done online at www.FourSeasonsCurlingClub.com or by calling 763-780-3328.

The Four Seasons Curling Club is located at Fogerty Arena, 9520 Lincoln St. NE, Blaine, MN.

Each free lesson is a two-hour introduction and instructional session that teaches the basics of curling. It’s very hands-on, according to John Benton, Fogerty’s director of curling and member of the USA 2010 Olympic Curling Team.

“Within minutes, participants will be throwing rocks and sweeping,” Benton said. “We’ll finish the session playing a mini game.”

Novice curlers can learn more by enrolling in a four-week instructional curling league.
