Excerpt #12 (Organ Donor (Stella's Saga))

Stella shook her head and the girl lowered the gun. “You got room for one more?” Stella nodded without thinking twice. The guns would be an asset, and the girl seemed to be able to shoot pretty well. “Cool. My name’s Amber,” the girl said, holstering the gun and sticking a hand out. Stella shook Amber’s hand. “Stella,” she replied. Amber smirked. “Do you have any supplies?” “Not much, but I’ve got some canned corn, a bag of beef jerky and a bottle of water. Couldn’t fit anything else in my backpack with the bullets. I’ve been preparing for this since I was ten.” Amber spoke very excitedly, her words melting together as she tried to explain herself. Stella opened the door and hit the unlock button. “Let’s get out of here before more of those things show up.”
