Destruction Productions is currently accepting manuscripts!

Are you a writer? Have you ever dreamed of having your work published? Don't wanna go through the hassle of self-publishing? Have I got an opportunity for you!

My independent publishing company, Destruction Productions, through which I publish all of my books and short stories, is currently accepting manuscripts for consideration for publication!

A little bit of backstory:

Destruction Productions started out as Homicide!Ink in Santa Barbara, California, in 2009. At that time, DP mainly dealt in making short stories available to the general public for free on a multitude of different platforms.

When I moved back to Fridley, Minnesota in late 2009, I discontinued Homicide!Ink as I got back to work at a gas station.

In May of 2011, when I finished my first book (Paper Dolls, part of the Sketchbooks Series) I revamped the original idea for Homicide!Ink and changed the name to Destruction Productions to make it a bit more palatable. For the first two years of its existence, I've worked my butt off to build the brand. All current books published under the DP label are by me, though many are under pseudonyms. I think it's about ready for that to change.

So we are calling for manuscripts!

At this time we are not able to afford to give cash advances, but here's what we can do: We can beat traditional publishers' royalties. Where they'll give you 2%-15% per sale, DP will give you 20%-50%, payable via Paypal about a month after the end of each quarter (you can expect payment at the beginning of February, May, August, and November), assuming your book sells.

Destruction Productions currently advertises on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and will soon have a revamped blogger blog as well as a webs.com website. I'm also working on a youtube channel specifically for DP. In the future we will also do physical advertising (such as mailers, bookmarks, and {hopefully} book signings!).

So you may be asking, is this a vanity press?

The answer, my dear, is no.

We will never pressure you to use your own money for anything. Of course, it is always recommended that an author take at least some of their own time to market their books.

So I ask you this: Do you have a novel you've been working on? Got a great idea for a story? Are you an indie author? Do you dream of being published?

Then Destruction Productions could be right for you!

PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPT POETRY OR PICTURE BOOKS.

Please send all queries to Delia.Destruction@yahoo.com with the words "Destruction Productions Query Letter" in the subject line.

(At this time I would prefer to deal solely with unrepresented {no agent} authors as  we are just beginning this new stage of development. I'm hoping that, as this grows and becomes a bigger indie publisher, we will be able to start working with agents as well. For now, please understand that the restriction is for the best.)

If you do not know how to write a query letter, http://www.agentquery.com/writer_hq.aspx is an awesome resource. It's for writing queries to literary agents but a query letter is a query letter, at least to us.
