I want to preface this by saying yes, I'm still writing and releasing things, my blogging ability has just been shot to hell because I've burnt out on just about everything besides listening to Weird Al and driving an ice cream truck. But the other night after work, it was proposed to me to do a really epic piece of fan art. What if I drew a piece based off of DaVinci's last supper?
And then another person proposed that I draw it entirely made out of Al Yankovic?
Challenge Accepted.
I drew straight through from about 12:30 AM to 6:39 AM (I know 6:39 because that's when I looked at the clock and thought crap! I need sleep!) and then drew for roughly three more hours after I woke up.
It was the most labor intensive thing I've ever drawn, and I would gladly do it again as it's brought smiles to at least 12 Weird Al fans thus far, with many more to come, I'm sure.
I'm actually kind of planning to get a good copy printed out and try to give it to him after the concert of his I get to go to in Joliet, IL in October (two days before my birthday!!!)
So yeah. There's my explanation for this wonderfully involved piece that includes "Skipper Dan, Amish Al, baby Al, Fat Al, Scruffy Al, Grunge Al, Current Al, Gangsta Al, Nerdy Al, Bad Hair Day Al, Surgeon Al, Jedi Al, 80s Al.
That's a lot of Al.
