YOUR NEWS: Fridley's Ties to Hurricane Sandy

What have you heard from people Out East? One woman from Fridley was hunkered down.

What ties do you have—friends, family or other—to communities suffering from Hurricane Sandy?

One Former Fridley Resident
Sarah Palmer Kmetetz, originally from Fridley, posted from Bethlehem, CT on the Fridley Patch Facebook page:

I am in CT and we are getting plenty of wind. The winds are expected to be the worse from this afternoon and into the overnight hours. Staying inside to stay safe as lots of trees are expected to come down and take out electricity.

That was at about noon Central Time on Monday, and she was right. Woodbury-Middlebury Patch in Connecticut reported Monday evening that all power is out in Bethlehem. (The downed tree photo is from another Patch site in Connecticut.)

A Friend in West Virginia
Fridley resident Laurie Buck's friend Jenn Short is in Terra Alta, WV. The snowy street scene she shot at 11 p.m. Monday will look familiar to Minnesotans—except for the hurricane part.
