Updated: Tornado Watch, Warnings in Anoka County
Hail is a feature of swift-moving storms.
Update (midnight): The tornado watch has expired. This is what the National Weather Service has to say now about the outlook Wednesday for a number of Minnesota counties including Anoka County:
There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and tonight for much of the area. The severe weather threats include large hail, damaging winds and locally heavy rain. In addition, a tornado or two is also possible across Central Minnesota this evening, mainly along and north of Interstate 94.
Update (9:30 p.m.): The second tornado warning has expired, but the tornado watch that includes all of Anoka County is in effect until midnight.

A tornado warning including West Central Anoka County ended at 8:30 p.m.
At 8:22 p.m., the National Weather Service reported:
A tornado warning remains in effect for West Central Anoka, East Central Wright and Southeastern Sherburne counties until 8:30 p.m.
At 8:20 p.m. National Weather Service radar continued to indicate a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado. Trained storm spotters also continued to report funnel clouds with this storm.
This storm has a history of producing a tornado near St. Michael. This dangerous storm was located near Albertville or 12 miles northeast of Buffalo...moving northeast at 15 mph.
In addition to a tornado...this storm is likely to produce tennis ball size hail.
