Storms Hit Fridley, Followed by Power Outages

More than 200 customers may be without power until later Monday.

Heavy rain hit Fridley and Anoka County Monday evening, knocking out power for more than 200 area customers, according to Xcel Energy.

One group of 48 customers in Fridley lost power shortly before 8 p.m. and can expect it to be restored by 11:30 p.m.

Another group, including 171 in Fridley and Columbia Heights, lost power at about 6:30 p.m. and can expect it back by 10 p.m., the utility company said.

One resident near East River Road and Osborne Road NE reported flickering lights at the Fridley Patch Facebook page shortly after 9 p.m.

Some roads in areas around Fridley had standing water, according to Facebook comments.
