Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Fridley and Twin Cities Area

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Fridley and all of Anoka County, as well as other Minnesota counties. The watch is in effect until 8 p.m.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop to the west this afternoon, then move east though the Twin Cities during the late afternoon and early evening hours. Small hail is possible and the strongest storms could produce hail up to half dollar size. Localized damaging wind gusts are also possible.
