Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southern Anoka County

Fridley included in storm warning that it is in effect until 6:30 a.m.

Fridley is included in a severe thunderstorm warning Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service issued the warning at 5:40 a.m., reporting radar showing storms that could bring winds with speeds greater than 60 miles per hour. 

As of 5:50 a.m., the warning was set to expire at 6:30 a.m.

The line of thunderstorms was moving east at 50 miles per hour, according to the NWS. 

Besides high winds, the storms could produce large hail and lightning. The NWS advises moving to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business.
