'Q' Comes After You: Winter Storm to Leave 3–6 Inches of Snow on Fridley

The storm that dropped wet gloppy snow on Tucson, AZ on Wednesday will really sock it to the Midwest Thursday and Friday—but mostly south of Minnesota, forecasters say, with a maximum of six inches falling on Fridley.

What the Weather Channel is calling "Winter Storm Q" will arrive around midnight Thursday. Snow will continue through Friday, tapering off in the afternoon.

The National Weather Service doesn't name winter storms, but the NWS does issue Winter Storm Advisories. There is one such advisory for a large are of Minnesota that includes Fridley, starting at midnight Thursday and remaining in effect through 6 p.m Friday.
