Get Out: What To Do This Weekend in Fridley

Fridley's weekend entertainment guide to movies, art, music and cars.

It’s Thursday and it is time to finally unwind for the weekend. Fridley Patch has found some relaxing options.

Fridley City Band
Where/When: Church of St. William, 6120 Fifth St. NE, Fridley, on Sunday, March 13, at 3 p.m. 
Why Go: The band marks its fiftieth anniversary by performing Broadway tunes from shows such as Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story and Oklahoma with the Northeast Orchestra. 
Price: Free (voluntary contributions welcome) 

Movie Night
Where/When: Regal Brooklyn Center 20 has various screenings on a daily basis
Why Go: An ole fashion movie night never fails. The following films will be showing at the Regal theater this weekend; Battle: Los Angeles, Mars Needs Moms, Red Riding Hood, The Adjustment Bureau, Beastly, Rango, Take Me Home Tonight, Hall Pass, Big Mommas, Justin Bieber, I Am Number Four, Gnomeo & Juliet, Just Go With It, The King’s Speech and Unknown.
Price: General admission, $9.50; senior citizens and children, $6.50

Geographies
Where/When: on Saturday, March 12 from 5–8 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy the opening reception for the art exhibit that portrays “a multi-media investigation of place.”
Price: Free

R-Factor
Where/When: on Friday, March 11 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Why Go: The larger musical ensemble will play music that tickles everyone’s fancy at least once.


Where/When: Minneapolis Convention Center (1301 Second Ave. S.) on Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m.–10 p.m.; and Sunday, March 13 from 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
Why Go: The 38th annual show has grown into the nation’s 7th largest auto show and now features $15 million in vehicles.
Price: Adults (16+) $10; juniors (11–15), $5; children younger than 10, free. Save $2 by purchasing tickets online.
