Fridley Police Blotter: Mooning, a Pickpocket and a Twig Fire

Here are items selected from information provided by the Fridley Police Department:

March 31:

  • Police responded to the 6100 block of Seventh Street NE on report of juveniles standing and lying in the street, not moving for vehicles, and also "mooning" passing drivers.
  • A report of two people pacing in the hallway at an apartment building inthe 1200 block of Cheri Lane NE turned out to be residents who forgot their keys.
  • A complainant in the 7800 block of East River Road reported his vehicle's license plate stolen after Coon Rapids police notified him a vehicle with that plate had driven away from a gas station without paying.
  • Police checking on a suspicious vehicle in the 5800 block of Central Avenue arrested a male on a warrant.
  •  An officer responded to the 7400 block of Central Avenue on a report of a female jumping out in front of cars. Allina transported her to the hospital. 
  • Two males started a small fire on the pavement with twigs in the 6600 block of East River Road.

April 1:

  • A pickpocket stole a wallet from a male victim in the 5600 block of University Avenue NE.
  • A male and his son were begging for money in the parking lot of Cub Foods, 246 57th Ave. NE.
  • A female who tried to use a fraudulent check at WalMart, 8450 University Ave. NE was taken to jail.
  • An extremely intoxicated male was sitting on the sidewalk in the 5200 block of Central Avenue NE. He was taken to the hospital.

In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents generally appear in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred.
